If you have been charged with a minor traffic violation in Cleveland County or any other county in North Carolina that honors the AAA Driver Improvement Program, you may be eligible to attend the 4-hour or 8-hour course. Upon completion of this course, you may receive a reduced charge (Check with the county where you received the ticket). It is your responsibility to determine how completion or non-completion of this course will affect your insurance policy or driver’s license. If needed, consult an attorney for advice on your ticket.
You are not eligible for this course if your court date has passed or your charge is not listed. Also if you have already taken the Defensive Driving Course within the last three years, or you have received a reduction of a charge to improper equipment within 3 years of the date of the class you are not eligible.
Please bring your driver’s license, your citation, a letter of representation, from your attorney ( if you have one), and the cost of your class with you when you register. You may pay in cash, credit card or with a check made payable to Safe Lane Drivers School.
$60 - 4 hour class | $100 - 8 hour class
After you complete the course, go on your next court date and take a copy of your NC driving record from the NCDMV, your citation, your certificate for the 4-hour or 8-hour course, and your court cost and fine for the reduction of your charge.
